The Exus Challenge is an experience that involves adventure, studying, missions, training, growth... but above all, it involves spiritual formation. For that reason, this is the aspect on which you must focus most in getting ready to come. We're not suggesting that you wait to hear God's audible voice to decide whether or not to come, or to start collecting the necessary gear. We just want you to be active in seeking God's will for your life, and to make sure that your main motivation in coming is your love for Christ.
The Bible teaches that we must seek wisdom in the counsel of many (Proverbios 11:14; 15:22; and more). You should try to surround yourself with people whom you consider wise and godly, who also know you well. Talk with the right away about your desire to participate in Exus. Share your plan, thoughts and feelings on this idea, and ask for their advice and opinions. Within this group of people you'll approach, you should include your parents - even if they aren't professing Christians. Your pastor, the elders, and the your leaders from your church should also be among the people you can count on for the wisdom the Good Book describes.
Now, as you seek counsel from the people mentioned above, make sure you are seeking God's wisdom directly as well. He is the best counselor there is, period (Isaiah 9:6). Chat, meditate and rest in Him. Pray, fast, leard the Word, and take all your plans to Him, for Him to confirm or change. As you start making plans and taking steps for this experience, the Holy Spirit will open - or close - the right doors, leading you in the right direction. After all, He promises to give you all the wisdom you'll need if you seek Him with all your heart (James 1:5).
It would be awesome if, while you're here with us, you could come with the backing of a number of people praying for you constantly. So invite as many people as possible to join you in the adventure, even if it's not by attending. There are lots of people in our churches, in some cases elderly, who cannot be a part of a physical challenge like Exus, but are willing to pray fervently. These folks could be great members of your "team," and could have a huge impact in your overall experience. This suggestion comes from us with a bit of a selfish interest in it, but we know God doesn't mind - if you come with a group of brothers and sisters praying for you back home, our investment into your life will surely yield fruit "a hundred-fold," and will enable us to join heaven's celebration in what the Spirit does in your life.
